Giant freshwater stingray caught from the Ban Pakong River in Thailand estimated to weigh 130-140kg captured by the fishsiam team.The capture was observed by Dr.Zeb Hogan(mega fishes project)and recorded by Stefan Lovgren Nat Geo news writer.Whilst being handled in the margins the monster ray gave birth to a live new born measuring a mere 34cm.The fish was promptly released after photography.We believe this is the only recorded example of a Giant freshwater stingray giving birth in its natural wild enviroment and another step closer to gaining a better understanding of such an understudied and obscure freshwater species.
